Symptoms, Causes and Solutions of Acid Reflux In Infants

All of you must have noticed your baby spitting up continuously. However, you may not be aware of the fact that excessive spitting by your baby can be a symptom of the acid reflux, as said by National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse. A baby may get acid reflux after feeding, or it can also happen after they strains, cries or coughs. The worse part of this problem is that you can never guess about the disease your baby suffering from, as they look very happy and healthy.
Infant acid reflux in a child will eventually dispel each year, depending upon baby. There are some ways to lessen the symptoms. These include changing the position of the baby while feeding, feeding in lesser amounts, stopping feedings to belch, providing certain medication to the body as prescribed by doctors, and feeding frequently.
Symptoms In Infant Suffering Acid Reflux
Many may not be sure that whether their baby is suffering with acid reflux. Here are mentioned some of the symptoms, which can help you know better about your baby’s health. Throwing up or spitting up are the typical symptoms of acid reflux. Your baby may also stop eating and seems to be much irritated. If you find such symptoms in your baby then be sure he/she is having acid reflux. You should soon take doctor advice.
Some Of The Primary Causes Of Infant Acid Reflux
Infant acid reflux is chiefly caused by a relaxation of the muscle between the stomach and the esophagus. This muscle plays important role by preventing the matters present in the stomach entering in the esophagus. However, in infants, this muscle is not much developed and hence may allow the contents to enter the esophagus and out through the child’s mouth.
As suggested above, you must visit doctors soon for your baby. If your baby is underweight, or he/she resists feeding, suffer fever, diarrhea, then don’t wait, just take expert’s advice and keep your baby healthier and happier.
