Symptoms , Causes and Home Remedy for Canker Sore

Canker sores also called as Aphthous Stomatitis usually develops on the soft tissues of the mouth. It can be described as painful, small ulcers, which are yellowish or white in color and surrounded by redness under the tongue. This usually causes pain, especially while talking and eating.

Canker Sores are continuing in nature and can reappear after its healed procedure. However, canker sores are not contagious, it do not spread from one person to another. It is usually last for 2-3 weeks. A person may affect by one or more canker sore at the same time. It can appear to any person. However, it appears among the women aged in between fifteen to thirty.

Causes:

  • Malfunction of Immune system malfunction
  • Food allergies
  • Lack of Nutrition like iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and folic acid
  • Heredity
  • Trauma
  • Bacterial infections
  • Gastrointestinal tract related diseases
  • Hormonal disorders
  • Anxiety or Stress
  • Biting the lips


Symptoms:

  • Feeling Feverish
  • Tingling and Burning sensation
  • Feeling down
  • Shallow ulcer inside the lip or on the tongue
  • Difficulty in eating and talking

Other symptoms like swelling of lymph nodes and listlessness can also be the cause of mouth ulcer or canker sore.

Home Remedies:

  • Rinsing of mouth with aloe juice periodically.
  • Putting of some alum on canker sores. Repeating this process two times a day. It helps in quick relief from pain and healing.
  • Application of baking powder on the ulcer or sores either in the paste form or powder form. It reduces the bacteria amount present in the mouth.
  • Rinsing of mouth with mouth wash several times in a day .Mouth wash must be prepared by mixing of baking soda in warm water.
  • Prepare a mouthwash putting 5 – 6 drops of seed extract of Grapefruit in a glass of water; rinse thoroughly your mouth with it one time in a day. It acts as a disinfectant.
  • Prepare a mouthwash mixing water with hydrogen peroxide. Use it two times in a day.
  • Raw Onion application to sores is also an excellent treatment for canker sores.
  • Rinse your mouth with the juice of plum.
  • Eat more and more fresh papaya juice or fruit.
  • Application of tea oil to the Canker sores.
  • Application of Goldenseal powder to the Canker sore.

The above mentioned home remedies are very effective. So, if you want to get quick relief from sore you need to keep applying these regularly. The sores will go away within a week.
