Most people think that lack of calcium in their diet as the main cause for osteoporosis. In reality, it is only a small part of the puzzle. Calcium supplements do help but other dietary options need to be considered too.
The primary cause of osteoporosis is highly acidic foods. These include white flour and white sugar, high fructose corn syrup, sweets, candies and anything containing sweeteners. When over consumed these food items causes pH levels in becoming very acidic. As an attempt to make a healthy balance of your pH levels your body searches out for available calcium and magnesium and releases it in your blood stream.
With each goodie and soft drinks you compromise your bone’s density. The calcium and magnesium which the body utilizes to counteract this situation gets passed through kidneys which contribute to kidney stones and exits through urine. To avoid losing your bone’s density through dietary habits just stop indulging with added or processed sugar food items or ingredients made from refined carbohydrates.
Subsequently, some super foods, such as celery, cabbage, broccoli and other leafy dark green vegetables help in maintaining your pH levels in a healthy equilibrium. Try to eat good sources of calcium and magnesium from healthy plant based organic vitamins. Another wise super food choice includes sprouts. Also, your diet must supplement a variety of sea foods like seaweed, kelp and similar others.
