Some Useful Tips To Prevent Cracks In Your Foot Skin

Most of the people are suffering from the common problem of foot which is known as heel fissures or cracked heels. Heel fissures are normally found on the bottom of your foot or on the side parts of the heel. Sometimes the skin area can be painful and bleed if the heel fissures get irritated. The problem of this cracked heels generally occur when dry skin of the heels rubs against the shoe leather and becomes agitated. Because of the callus, a thicker area inside the skin, there can be a painful and deep infection.

Treatment of your heels can only happen if you investigate in the causes and take steps to buffer that thick area of the skin. If you will be aware of the reasons why cracked heel or calluses are causing, then you can easily take preventative measures to control it. Some of the reasons by which heel fissure and calluses occur are:

1. If too much of time is spent by standing on the hard surfaces at home or work.

2. While walking, if the person is facing a mechanical failure.

3. If there is some extra pressure on foot area because of being overweight.

4. If the person has a natural dry skin.

5. Skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

6. Because of some diseases like thyroid or diabetes that produce the dryer skin.

Along with the reasons, you should be conscious about the treatment also. So here are good tips by which you can cure your cracked heels:

1. Use of special creams recommended by any podiatrist.

2. Strapping can be used if that area is painful.

3. Use of a foot scrubber to remove the thick skin

4. Soak the feet in warm water before going to bed and make it sure that during the night, the feet remain rehydrated.

5. Use of an exfoliator on rough areas

6. Seek some advice about the correct shoes and methods to cure the problem

If your cracked heels are paining or bleeding, then make an appointment with a podiatrist. It’s very important to get a diagnosis. With the help of a podiatrist, you can know what type of mechanical problem is causing heel fissures, and then you can simply overcome with this problem.
