Gastritis or acidity is felt when too much acid is produced in the stomach which creates burning sensation and sluggishness. One feels nauseatic and feels like even vomiting. Sometimes sour belches coupled with a pungent taste in the mouth are experienced by the person. Some people suffer from headache and  aversion to light due to acidity.

For the proper functioning of the digestive system of our body, hydrochloric acid is responsible. Other digestive enzymes like pepsin are secreted by it, which is further responsible for the break up of food articles to make it easily digestive. We can’t digest food properly when there’s less secretions of this acid and developacidity if there’s excess secretion of the same.

Among the causes of acidity, refined or fibreless food is the main culprit. Too much alcohol and smoking to give birth to this problem. Erratic eating hours, spicy food and overeatingalso cause this problem. Another main cause is stress.

One simple remedy to treat acidity is sucking on a clove. Consuming milk products and milk itself also helps. Fried, spicy foods and pickles along with unripe fruits with high pectin content should not be taken. A glass of mint juice daily cures acidity. Waking up to a glass of water every morning eases this problem. You can always take half cup of cold, sugarless milk on an empty stomach in the morning.

In addition, hitting the sack early and rising early plus having dinner two hours before going to the bed also helps alleviate gastritis. Drink coconut water 3-4 times a day – a natural and one of the best remedies to say adieu to acidity.
