Natural Remedies for Fighting Depression

Foods containing vitamin B are strongly recommended for depressed persons. An apple is an excellent source of vitamin B and potassium. Normally a person is recommended to consume a single apple per day but in case of depression apples are recommended with honey and milk. Other sources of vitamin B are fishes, eggs, green vegetables and whole grain foods. All these are excellent natural sources of vitamin B. Additionally; there are vitamin B supplements that can be consumed for easy and effective treatment.

Another highly recommended food is asparagus that is believed to have a great positive effect on depression. Asparagus’s bottom roots are crushed or squeezed to produce a powder mixture. One or two grams of this powder is suggested to be consumed daily.

Rose petals can also be used for treating depression. Collect some rose petals and put them in boiling water. After being boiled let it cool and then drink the mixture. Those with strict taste preferences can also add little sugar in the rose petal mixture. Similarly, herbal teas are yet another good natural remedy for treating the depression.

Meditating for relaxation is considered the best remedy for overcoming depression. It may normally include a person sitting his legs crossed in a quite room and taking deep breaths. This can be also done using instructional videos and books. Both these sources are easily available on and offline. Besides meditating there are certain other ways also that can help a person fight depression quite effectively.

Taking baths with warm water is recommended. However, it does not come under an exact treatment but is an essential procedure in fighting depression. Warm water bath is suggested to be taken in quite and low lighted bathrooms. These help in relaxing the body and proceed towards the rest meditating procedure.

The above given natural remedies provide a great assistance in fighting the depression. These natural remedies can be applied on oneself or suggested to others. But is important to remember that depressions may also be chronic and this is where medical assistance is necessary.
