Ingrown toenails are common foot complication and anyone can develop it. There are few people who associate it with some other issues but they are all negative. Generally, ingrown toenails are caused due to tight fitting shoes, walking too much or even moving around bare footed can lead you to develop this issue. The first symptoms that make you observe this issue is the pushing of nails into side of your skin. You may start feeling the urge for pressing that show against your toe or may just favor that foot more a bit.

Ignoring ingrown toenails can inflame where it’s pushing and you end up undergoing a surgery. Without proper treatments the infections can spread pretty fast. But there’s nothing to worry about as these can easily treated through some common home remedies. Let us consider a few of them.

The first thing that a person should do is that he must soak that particular foot in warm water. Also you can some lavender and tea tree oils for softening the skin. After your foot for about 20-30 minutes try pulling the ingrown nail up to the corner by lifting it away from the skin. You can also use a nail file for this purpose but beware of not slipping away or else be ready to suffer the enormous pains.

But many times just one soak may not be enough for softening your toenails. This is more common if you have thin and sharp nails that may further increase the biting problem on the toe sides. If the warm water doesn’t provide you the required softening then you need to soak into the lavender oils or tea tree oils or in some Neosporin. Then try the same procedure the next day. However, on the next day if you have the need of putting on your shoes then you need to first consider bandaging the toe with a soft thick bandage.

After soaking it for 3 to 4 days you will find that nail gently lifting away from the skin. Once the nail gets lifting up you need to trim it using scissors and you can even file it smooth. Now you’ll be having a tender pink channel where your nail used to press once. Better consider keeping it clean and bandaged and apply antibiotics after every bath for keeping the infections away. However, if the toenail has grown stubborn then you need the help of a doctor who would trim it out.

The ingrown toenails complications are like ear infections. Many people don’t suffer even single toenail complications while many others are consistently suffer from it. A having under this issue once is more likely to undergo it again. Under such conditions you need to take good care of your feet. Consider buying correct fitting shoes and keep noticing for any pains that arise in toes.
