Squirrels seem to be tiny little animals which cannot harm in any sense. But these little animals can pose great threats to large farm owners as well as to people having big gardens. They not only harm your fruit trees and plants but they also get inside your house for easy treats. People try various methods for getting rid of these squirrels and many succeed while many fail for doing the same.
Today squirrels are not only threats to large farm or big garden owners but they have now entered into the city life also and causing problems. These animals do feed on fruits and nuts but do not ignore easy treats which they find usually around houses or farms. Squirrels living in towns and cities along with those that exist in farms have slowly been habituated to human foods or leftovers. This has in turn increased the interactions between man and squirrels. Besides, now they are not only posing threats towards farms or gardens but have also become a threat for our homes.
There are different approaches for getting rid of squirrel problems. The most common and widely suggested by the natural departments is by shooting the squirrel holes. This approach is rather difficult for those who have never tried hunting before or do not prefer killing animals. Other approaches include giving poison through foods or leftovers, using traps or by using squirrel proof materials for most outside usages. But no matter how hard you try the squirrels will keep on irritating you.
The problem of squirrels is less observed in farms and gardens that include less of fruit bearing plants and trees. However, squirrels can also live in trees that do not bear any fruits. The real world fact is that it is difficult to completely eliminate the existence of squirrels. There are several security measures that are effective in keeping squirrels away from your homes and farms. One such measure of using squirrel-proof materials has already been discussed. Using traps will also help in shooting out the problems to some extent. Keeping a pet dog or cat can also prohibit squirrels from freely moving around farms or inside your homes. Additionally, you can use grill guards for avoiding their entrance inside your homes. And finally, if you are familiar with hunting or guns then you also hunt them during weekends.
As said before, it is quite impossible to completely get rid of squirrels. If you hate even having a sight of them then you can prefer moving to other locations with less of trees and other sources that facilitate their living conditions. Or else you can at least use certain measures for prohibiting their interactions with you. Many do like these tiny cute animals running around their farms or backyards. It is just the matter of how you deal their presence and how much they mess up with your works.
