How to Get Rid of Itchy Eyes?

Are you suffering from the itchy eyes? Avoid rubbing the eyes to relieve the itch. It may even worsen your problem and cause more itching. Your eyes may become red, infected and irritated. Rubbing may make your eyes to appear as if you had a long cry.
Causes For Itchy Eyes
Most of the itchy eyes are due to allergies. Sometimes it occurs on the seasonal basis when the plants bloom outside. However, if it is non seasonal, then it may be caused due to allergic reaction. It may be caused due to allergic cosmetics, which are used around the eyes, or certain foods, cleaning products. Those people who wear the contact lens, experience the irritation in their eyes.
The other causes may be due to viral or bacterial infection, which is also known as pink eye. Sometimes itchy eyes may be caused due to dry eyes.
Various Remedies For Itchy Eyes:
- Identify the cause of allergy and irritation. If you are unable to find the cause, then keep track on the food which you eat. You will realize that the certain food may cause your eyes to itch.
- Medications-Use antihistamine eye drops to cure the itchy eyes. It gives relief. Some people use artificial tears to soothe the irritation of the eyes. Do not use the commercial eye drops, which make the eye red.
- Natural method- Apply the cold compress to sooth the irritation of the eyes. It also reduces the swelling which is created by the constant rubbing. Slices of cucumbers can be applied over the itchy eyes. It is one of the best methods to soothe the eyes.
- Lastly, if you experience the pain, and blurred vision, then consult the eye specialist.
