How to Carry Out Home Based Treatment Against Pink Eyes?

Inflammation or occurrence of red colored patches in the conjunctiva which covers the lines of the inner part of the eye lid and the white part of the eye is globally referred to as Pink Eye. It is caused by viral infection, bacterial infection or allergies. It mainly results into irritation, itching, pain and profuse tearing.
Straining the extract made by adding chamomile flowers in a cup of boiled water and using it as eyewash is a widely used home based remedy to fight off the aftereffects of the conjunctivitis.
Similar kind of eyewash can be prepared by boiling fennel seeds. It helps not only in washing the eyes but also facilitates in reduction of pain, redness and inflammation caused by the infection.
The most unquestionable remedy for treating the eye infection or conjunctivitis is putting few drops of honey directly into the eye. Honey is also used as eyewash by boiling and then cooling it with water.
Applying the slices of raw potato over the affected eye helps in reducing the inflammation. Turmeric solution using turmeric powder and boiled water is used as warm compress.
Aloe is considered to be the simplest remedy for conjunctivitis. It is applied by placing cloth soaked in aloe vera juice in the affected area. Application of poultice made from yogurt over the infected eye helps in reducing the inflammation.
Eyewash made from mixing baking soda and water acts as a soothing agent in treating the discomfort caused by Pink Eye. Barberry is also an effective remedy against the infection. It is due to the fact that barberry contains antibacterial compound. It is used either as eyewash or with a compress by boiling the root of barberry with water.
Mixture if Boric acid and water used with a clean linen or cotton also helps in subsidizing the symptoms of the disease.
