With passing time and technological developments the methods of achieving a better appearance has changed. Today people, including both men and women, prefer less or no hair on their face and bodies. There are numerous hair removal products that claim to effectively remove the hairs. But none of these products are capable of doing so on a permanent basis. Hairs removed grow again thereby making it a repeating procedure.

The laser technology has emerged as the most preferred and effective way of removing the hairs permanently. Seeing the demand many big brand have jumped into this new laser hair removal technology for gaining maximum profits. But before being used the laser require permissions from Food & Drug Administration Department in advance before using it for the general public.

There are several kinds of lasers available in the market. These include the Ruby Laser, Diode Laser, Alexandrite Laser, Yag Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) devices. The oldest laser technology constitutes to be the Ruby Laser. It is specifically used to remove very fine or as well as light hairs. But there are certain disadvantages of using this laser technology. This laser cannot work for dark or tanned skins and covers only a small area of which the hair needs to be removed. All these factors have gradually led to its degradation and now it is very less spoken about and used.

Another oldest laser type is the Alexandrite Laser that features a very high speed laser. It works very well for large sized patients and those with olive to light complexion. It is the commonest laser type that is used worldwide.

There’s a laser that does help dark complexion people to remove unwanted hairs. It is the Diode Laser that works on much larger areas for removing the hairs. But it doesn’t helps for removing finer or lighter hairs. Generally, the rates of repetition of this laser treatment are quite expensive therefore many opt for going for the brisk treatment. There’s another laser technology that works irrespective of skin color and can be used for removing hairs from a very large area. But this treatment does not last for long and is also less effective in terms of fine or lighter hairs.

The latest laser technology being used today is the Intense Pulsed Light devices. Actually, these devices do not use laser at all but they use the laser equivalents. Here, laser equivalents refer to a photothermolysis concept
