BuSpar Side Effects : Treating Anxiety Disorder and Associating Precautions

BuSpar is specifically used for treating anxiety disorders and for providing short-term relieves for anxiety symptoms. This drug is to be consumed exactly as per prescription rules and do not get discouraged on not receiving immediate relief. This drug might take 1-2 weeks to provide full relief.

The recommended dose for adults is approximately 15 milligrams per day. This amount can also be divided into smaller doses and prescribed for taking several times a day. These doses may increase on per day basis and the maximum dose amount should not exceed more than 60 milligrams. If any of its scheduled doses gets missed then consider taking it as soon you remember it. If time for the next dose schedule closes in then it is better to skip it. It is also strongly prohibited to double your doses. Overdosing of this medication could actually cause you some really serious consequences. The common overdosing symptoms include drowsiness, dizziness, stomach upsets, vomiting and nausea and small unusual pupils.
It is strongly recommended to avoid this drug while using any antidepressant drugs such as MAO inhibitors. Similarly, this drug should also be avoided while getting treated with other medications for tension or anxiety. This drug should also be avoided while suffering from any liver or kidney issues. It can also affect the central nervous system which are often cannot be anticipated. Hence, avoid driving or handling heavy machinery equipments while being treated with the same.

There are also certain side effects of BuSpar that are unpredictable. Therefore, on developing any change or intensity the sufferer should be immediately consulted with the doctor. The common side effects are headaches, dizziness, fatigue, light headedness, dry mouths, nervousness, nausea or unusual excitement.

The effects of BuSpar during pregnancy are still not verified. Therefore, if you are pregnant or plan to do similar then urgently consult your doctor for avoiding the prevailing issues. These could also appear in the breast milk and hence nursing women must consult the doctor for either discontinuing the treatment or breastfeeding while being prescribed for this drug.

Its manufacturers suggest storing this drug at room temperature and away from direct heat, light and moisture.
